Keepers: Singapore Designer Collective worked to build an environment where Singapore craftsmanship and independent design are valued and desired. KEEPERS presented over 100 Singapore designers and artisans in a multifaceted showcase and event series that highlighted the diverse range, capabilities and craftsmanship of designers and artisans in Singapore in one easily accessible location. Designers and artisans connect with guests giving insight into the creative and development process of the community. Disparate disciplines came together to spur collaboration, exchange ideas and strengthen the community in the long term. This Keepers pop-up in the purpose-built structure by award-winning architect, Randy Chan of Zarch Collaborative originally slated to be there for 5 months at Orchard Green, stayed for 16 months. In addition, Keepers was invited to create a Singapore Designer pop-up shop at Changi Terminal 2 for 6 months.
This project is spearheaded by TaFf (Textile & Fashion Federation) and Carolyn Kan, founder and designer of Carrie K.; with support from Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and SPRING Singapore.
