Illustrated by Soefara Jafney
Sam, Sebbie, and Di-Di-Di are three siblings who love doing things together. In this book, they visit the Night Safari where they come face-to-face with deer, lions, elephants, rhinos, and a sleepy giraffe! The giraffe is asleep right on the path of the tram and no matter what the other animals do to wake him up, he just won't budge. The siblings come up with a plan; they simply ask him politely to please move. And the giraffe does at last!
This lovely story, told in an easy rhyming style, is great for younger children as it introduces the various animals and vocabulary in the Safari.
Alicia Tan, Beanie N Us!
This beautifully illustrated book captured the attention of Nathan immediately. We learnt about nocturnal animals and read about the predicament of the animals as they faced a giraffe who fell asleep in the middle of the road. Noah had fun identifying the animals and spotting the ones he saw in Bali. A good bedtime read and definitely a hit with kids who love animals.
Ng Ling Siew, The View from Mama's Desk
The book narrates mostly in rhymes and is perfect for the little one to learn. We also love the part of the story where the 3 siblings plan to move a sleepy giraffe out of the tram's way. It is a good way to teach children about politeness and good manners. My little one couldn't help but pick up the book a couple of times to read as a bedtime story.
